Certifications

Small Business Certification- Small business certifications are like professional certifications. They document a special capability or status that will help companies compete in the marketplace. Unlike permits and licenses, you do not need to obtain certifications to legally operate. However, in order to take advantage of business opportunities, such as government contracts, you may need to obtain some certifications. Federal, state, local governments and the private sector offer businesses opportunities to sell billions of dollars worth of products and services. Many government agencies require that some percentage of the procurements be set aside for small businesses.

Arias Information Solutions currently holds the following certifications.
BEP – Business Enterprise Program for the State of Illinois The Business Enterprise Program promotes the economic development of diverse businesses - those owned by minorities, women, and persons with disabilities. In 2009 the State of Illinois awarded nearly $400 million to BEP-certified firms.

"Minority group members" are United States citizens who are Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American. Ownership by minority individuals means the business is at least 51% owned by such individuals or, in the case of a publicly-owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more such individuals.
